Roth spots are retinal haemorrhages with white centres.
Classically they are associated with bacterial endocarditis.
However, they may also be seen occasionally in a range of other conditions including:
- Leukaemias
- Anaemia
- Carbon monoxide poisoning
- Toxoplasmosis
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
