Sheehan syndrome

Sheehan syndrome is a rare complication of postpartum haemorrahage in which there is necrosis of the pituitary gland resulting in hypopituitarism

The degree of hypopituitarism varies, with the anterior pituitary more susceptible to damage than the posterior.

Signs and symptoms are those of hypopituitarism.
