Liddle syndrome

Liddle syndrome is an autosomal dominant condition characterised by hypertension and usually hypokalaemia

It is caused by increased sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule

Biochemically: 
  • Hypokalaemia
  • Metabolic alkalosis 
  • Low plasma renin 

Treatment 
  • Salt restriction 
  • Potassium replacement 
  • Amiloride
